Bed Quiz
Leading a design sprint to revamp the Sleep Number bed quiz, addressing user pain points and enhancing conversion rates by delivering a more intuitive, personalized experience.
Challenge
The existing bed quiz was confusing and failed to clearly communicate how our products solved customer problems. Users found the product lineup intimidating, and the quiz did not effectively explain why specific beds were recommended.
Approach
We conducted five baseline tests and engaged stakeholders to pinpoint issues via a two week design sprint. I quickly prototyped an improved design with enhanced UI elements with the results from user interviews and an internal workshop.
Testing
Users appreciated the estimated time and personalized summary but wanted the option to edit their responses. Some features, like the adjustable smart base, remained unclear.
Results
The updated quiz—with a refreshed UI, flexible budget options, and improved comparison tools—led to increased add-to-cart actions, higher checkout rates, and more in-store visits.
